Resume
Anne Kwasner is a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked across the mediums of printmaking, mixed media and drawing plus in more recent years incorporated ceramics and installation. Anne has exhibited consistently since 2006, with a strong history of working with independent spaces.
In my most recent work for my masters I have explored the migrant experience in new work, I Come with Baggage, this has come as a progression on my ideas of dislocation, diaspora, and the melancholy of displacement. Responding to dialogues playing out in the media both mainstream and social, that have placed the notion of an inclusive multicultural society into a fractured place. Memory is explored through imbued objects and photos which I re-imagine.
2019 Anne was a finalist in the Franz International Porcelain Ceramic, she have been represented in; Redlands, North Sydney, Shoalhaven Contemporary, Maitland, Rookwood Cemetery ‘Hidden’ Sculpture and the Hutchins Drawing Prize, Tasmania. She is a recipient of an Art Start Grant, Australia Council (2011) and the Vytlacil Residency in New York (2012), and her work is held in private collections both in Australia and abroad.
