Paint a design your own cereal, pasta or soup bowl. Students will paint with underglaze onto a bisqueware (fired ceramic) bowl while learning the fundamentals of planning, design & drawing to assist them in finishing a fun and functional piece of pottery. Maybe paint a portrait of your own cat or dog or one inspired by pictures provided or do another design of your choice. Note that they bowls have already been made and bisque-fired in the kiln. Students will not make the bowl, but paint their design onto it only. They will then be glaze fired after this workshop.
What will students take home?
A fired ceramic bowl decorated with your design. The artworks made in this class will be fired in our kiln so kids will not take their artwork home on the day. The work needs to dry out before bisque firing, we then glaze the work and fire again in our kiln. We will send you an email notifying you when to collect your artwork so keep an eye on your inbox. Please allow about 3 weeks until they are ready to collect.
