David Edmonds

After selling his bicycle at 14 and buying a potters wheel David has been making, exhibiting, designing and teaching in ceramics for over 40 years. Best known for producing and exporting an original range of design lead dinnerware for the quality homeware, corporate and design markets in Australia and the US, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and NZ. David has a unique perspective on designing manufacturing an original product line.
David currently teaches into Object Design, Faculty Art Design and Architecture at UNSW.
David’s work has been featured in numerous print, TV and in many restaurants including Vogue, Maire Claire Lifestyle, Better Homes and Gardens etc and commissions for MADMuseum art and design New York, the Olympic arts programme, Sydney Airports Corporation Limited, Mural Konobar Sydney Tobias Theodore Architects, Ceramic range for Walkatjara Art at Uluru in collaboration with Anangu women elders, Longitude 131 Hotel Uluru for Voyager Hotels, Sunbeam Australia ceramic kettle toaster relaunch, Studio Kite, Sydney Theatre Company, DFS Duty Free Shoppers Corporation, Local Government and Shires Association, International Special Events Society and restaurants including Ormeggio Sydney, Esquire Brisbane, Kurtosh Sydney, Plunge 46 Sydney and Planet Coffee hobart.
David has taught at UNSW ART&DESIGN, NSW Pottery masterclass, Ceramic Study Group , Makerspace, SCA, Evening College Associations at North Sydney, Strathfield, SCEGGS Redlands, North Ryde and Kogarah, Burwood Community Centre and Art Est.
