Kim Spooner is an established Artist who has had 19 solo exhibitions at leading commercial galleries, throughout Australia. She has won numerous awards including the Portia Geach Memorial Award (1999)

Kim is a respected Lecturer in painting and drawing at the National Art School Sydney, known for her clear communication style and warm approach to teaching. She has a vast knowledge of technical skills and brings a practical approach to her generous teaching style. Kim is particularly skilled at teaching on a one on one basis, even in a full classroom, finding the best as well as the unique aspects of a student’s style and ability and enhancing the capabilities of each student. Kim gives clear direction and is known for her generous extension of knowledge beyond the parameters of the course, she has the unique ability of making learning enjoyable while imparting important fundamental information.
